What is Horse-o-English

Five horses wanted to be ESL teachers in Germany. They are three Warmblood mares, one Warmblood gelding and one pony gelding. Their owner is an ESL teacher who works in Germany, and so they all got together to create a series of e-learning CDRoms which make learning not only highly effective but also fun. The first CDRom in the series is titled "Tenses" and explains and provides picture stories for all the major English tenses and their correct usage. Each of the horses "explain" their lessons in an entertaining manner and with lots of fun and exciting pictures. Research has shown that information is retained much better if a picture accompanies the text. This is the concept of Horse-o-English: learning the fun way, with a combination of pictures and text. The level is beginners through to advanced, and is suitable for business people and children learning English alike. Working with the CD, you can avoid the most common English grammar mistakes, as correct usage of the tenses is easy with the horse instructors. There is also extensive translation of vocabulary and phrases, some of which you won't find in a dictionary.

An example of some vocabulary definitions and translations:

I want, I wanted - ich will, ich wollte

They want, they wanted - sie wollen, sie wollten

gelding - Wallach

Mare - Stute

in an entertaining manner - auf unterhaltsame Weise

it is suitable for - es eignet sich fuer

research has shown that - die Forschung hat gezeigt dass
